The Cryptocurrency is a type of virtual currency that is used in encryption to ensure security for bank transactions made online. Just like the traditional currency has serial numbers or hidden stripes inside it to prevent counterfeiting, the cryptocurrency also uses codes that are very difficult to discover.
There are various types of digital currencies, bitcoin is the best known of them. It is decentralized, which means that the currency can be transferred from person to person without interference from banks or intermediaries. As there is no authority or bank that regulates the currency, its cups are smaller and can be traded from any country.

Beginning with the introduction of UK Faster Payments in 2008, there are now dozens of faster payment systems in operation or being developed. This webinar traces the emergence of these systems, exploring how faster payment systems are both different from and similar to traditional bank-based payment systems. Importantly, the webinar will explore the implications of faster payment systems for emerging economies, issues for industry participants and policymakers and where these systems sit alongside other innovations such as mobile payments and distributed ledger technology.
